Our course for teachers of Spanish as a foreign language combines the application of innovative approaches and methods in second language teaching, as well as the analysis of the most complex aspects of grammar.
The aim is to improve your professional development and to share your professional experience with teachers from different parts of the world, as well as to get to know the teaching-learning context offered by our school with its more than twenty years of experience.
This first day consists of the introduction of the participants and the presentation of their work contexts. We will establish the guidelines for the observations of the classes that the school has available that week and we will present the theoretical framework that will serve as the basis of the course.
ICTs have become fundamental tools for our students’ learning. The intention of this lesson is to learn about resources that will help to develop digital competence in the classroom and we will do it using our own material for this course as an example. Yes! The material included in this course is an interactive book that you can consult whenever you want and that will always be kept up to date.
Grammar should not be the focus of classroom explanations. It should be treated as the raw material that our students use to communicate effectively. We will look at the main problems that Spanish grammar poses to students from a cognitive approach.
We have the methodology, the tools and the raw material with which we work in a Spanish for foreigners class. Now we will see that the best way to contextualise the real use of the language in the classroom is with games that make learning fun, allow us to practice the language and keep our students motivated.
Meaningful assessment of learning is the culmination of the teaching process. We will study the different ways of assessing the achievement of the objectives of a course. We will also discuss the official DELE and SIELE certifications: the structure and development of the tests, the preparation of the students and the differences that characterise them.
My name is Kateryn and I have more than ten years of experience in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. I have a degree in Hispanic Philology and a Master’s degree in Teaching-Learning Spanish as a Second Language. I am also a DELE examiner accredited by the Instituto Cervantes at all levels, as well as DELE and SIELE responsible for our examination centre. Over the years I have not stopped training professionally and, personally, I believe that teaching this course is the perfect opportunity to share and enrich myself with the experience of so many other colleagues in the profession.
My name is Haridian and I have been a teacher of Spanish as a foreign language since 2019.
