DELE stands for “Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera”. It is the official exam to evaluate your knowledge of the Spanish language.

What Is the DELE Exam About?
The exam is divided into the following four skill sets, including oral and written tests:
1. Reading comprehension
2. Written expression and interaction
3. Listening comprehension
4. Oral expression and interaction
The DELE exams are held for the six different levels, as described by the CEFR:
A1 – Breakthrough
A2 – Waystage
B1 – Threshold
B2 – Vantage
C1 – Effective Operational Proficiency
C2 – Mastery
Schoolchildren aged between 11 and 16 can also take an examination (A1, A2/B1) especially designed for this age group.
